Welcome to Glenwood Climbing Guides. We are the local experts for the Western Slope of Colorado including Glenwood Springs, Rifle Mountain Park, Colorado National Monument and Unaweep Canyon, in service the since 2011. With a perfect safety record that includes serving hundreds of guests each year on thousands of ascents of both rock and ice climbing, we are your go-to guide service for climbing instruction and personalized guiding.
We know the area better than anyone with guides who live here year round, spending countless days of personal and professional time on the cliffs of Glenwood Canyon and the steep canyon walls of Rifle Mountain Park. Most of the climbs that are popular with our guests were established by owner Mike Schneiter and Glenwood Climbing Guides has led the way in investing in Rifle Mountain Park and Glenwood Canyon by spending hundreds of hours maintaining trails, bridges, and climbing routes.
Get out for a day with Josh Allison, a Glenwood native who has an intimate knowledge of Rifle Mountain Park and watch him climb laps on the popular routes there. Ask for a day with Martin Harris and you’ll find yourself with a caring guide and dedicated climber who can be found in Rifle and on the climbs of Glenwood Canyon every week of the year. Seek out Sarah MacGregor who has extensive experience working with climbers of all skill levels, sharing her time with us, Colorado Mountain College, the Carbondale Rec Center and teaching yoga. Or, request owner Mike Schneiter who has climbed over 2,000 days in the Glenwood and Rifle areas since he moved here in 2000. No guidebook is needed as Mike is the walking guidebook for Rifle and Glenwood and can show you around unlike any other guide.
We are the local experts and are proud to safely serve the Glenwood and Rifle areas since 2011 and are excited to take you on your next adventure!
